In this paper, the Dyakonov–Shur instability of terahertz (THz) plasma waves has been analyzed in gated cylindrical field effect transistor (FET). In the cylindrical FET, the hydrodynamic equations in cylindrical coordinates are used to describe the THz plasma wave in two- dimensional electronic gas. The research results show that the oscillation frequency of the THz plasma wave is increased by increasing the component of wave in the circumferential direction, but instability increment of the THz plasma wave are increased by increasing the radius of channel.  相似文献

A cryogen distribution system was installed and commissioned to transfer liquid nitrogen (LN2) and liquid helium (LHe) from storage dewars to superconducting radio-frequency (SRF) cavities for the 3-GeV Taiwan Photon Source (TPS) project. The cryogen distribution system comprises one distribution valve box (DVB), four control valve boxes (CVB) and seven sections of multichannel transfer line (MCL). The DVB distributes the LHe and LN2 to the CVB, and then to the SRF cavities through independent vacuum-jacketed transfer lines. The vaporized GHe and GN2 from the cryomodules are collected via the MCL. The cryogen distribution system was installed and commissioned from October 2014 to the end of March 2015. This paper presents the installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning of the cryogen distribution system, and describes the heat load test. Thermal acoustic oscillation (TAO) was found in the GHe process line; this phenomenon and its solution are also presented and discussed.  相似文献

This paper presents novel power system stabilizers (PSS) tuning approach with particles swarm optimization (PSO) driven knowledge domain states mapping for multi area power system. Tuning of PSS parameters has been done by PSO technique offline at different operating conditions as load dynamics change. The objective function for PSS parameters tuning is integral time multiplied by absolute error (ITAE). The sets of tuned parameters at different operating conditions thus obtained are termed as knowledge domain. The process is viewed as knowledge domain mapping. The dynamical system response has been linked with states, and if there is any violation from desired limits, control action is initiated and thus retuned control parameters obtained straight away from the respective knowledge domain helps to provide quick response and precise damping of signals of interest. Proposed concept also demonstrates that if one controller (PSS) fails to stabilize the system at certain operating condition then another controller (UPFC) connected in the system acts as supplementary controller in automation which assists PSS functioning and thus entire system operation improves by way of modulating the signal dynamics at interface points which quickly damps oscillations. The system study has been performed on a sample six area power systems comprising of UPFC connected between area two and three and PSS to all areas. The proposed concept demonstrates auto tuning of PSS for quick oscillation damping as the operating conditions change and also under situations of PSS failure due to relatively larger perturbation, UPFC acts as supplementary controller by assisting the entire system PSS to recover ensuring stability.  相似文献

Localizing an epileptic network is essential for guiding neurosurgery and antiepileptic medical devices as well as elucidating mechanisms that may explain seizure-generation and epilepsy. There is increasing evidence that pathological oscillations may be specific to diseased networks in patients with epilepsy and that these oscillations may be a key biomarker for generating and indentifying epileptic networks. We present a semi-automated method that detects, maps, and mines pathological gamma (30-100 Hz) oscillations (PGOs) in human epileptic brain to possibly localize epileptic networks. We apply the method to standard clinical iEEG (<100 Hz) with interictal PGOs and seizures from six patients with medically refractory epilepsy. We demonstrate that electrodes with consistent PGO discharges do not always coincide with clinically determined seizure onset zone (SOZ) electrodes but at times PGO-dense electrodes include secondary seizure-areas (SS) or even areas without seizures (NS). In 4/5 patients with epilepsy surgery, we observe poor (Engel Class 4) postsurgical outcomes and identify more PGO-activity in SS or NS than in SOZ. Additional studies are needed to further clarify the role of PGOs in epileptic brain.  相似文献

We carried out a study of neutrino detection at the experimental fast reactor JOYO using a 0.76 tons gadolinium loaded liquid scintillator detector. The detector was set up on the ground level at 24.3 m from the JOYO reactor core of 140 MW thermal power. The measured neutrino event rate from reactor on-off comparison was 1.11±1.24(stat.)±0.46(syst.) events/day. Although the statistical significance of the measurement was not enough, backgrounds in such a compact detector at the ground level were studied in detail and MC simulations were found to describe the data well. A study for improvement of the detector for future such experiments is also shown.  相似文献

Abstract

In this study, the numerical scheme of dual reciprocity boundary element method (DRBEM) is adopted to investigate the resonant problem in a harbor while considering the effect of energy dissipation. The numerical model employed the mild slope equation as a basic equation. To avoid complicated procedures for solving the equation, DRBEM is used to improve numerical efficiency. Computation results are compared with the existing experimental data and other theoretical results. It shows that the present model is valid and effective to solve the harbor oscillation problem.  相似文献

特斯拉线圈是一种在教育、科研等领域广泛应用的高压演示仪。为使特斯拉线圈可以更加安全、高效的应用于现代科研和教育活动中,研究给出了一种基于现代电力电子技术对传统特斯拉线圈改良的方案。在遵循其基本科学原理的基础上,对传统特斯拉线圈的火花间隙、高压直流供电源进行了取代,对其控制回路进行了闭环设计,增加了逻辑处理、中断控制、功率逆变3大主要电路。经过对电路原理的仿真分析和实际测试,结果表明,本方案对传统特斯拉线圈噪音大、寿命短、效率低等缺点起到了显著的改善效果,在线圈的安全性、可靠性等方面皆有较大的提升,实现了预期改进目标。  相似文献

A mini liquid‐liquid extractor was designed based on a feedback fluidic oscillator. According to the Coanda effect, the designed oscillator with two feedback channels enables good mixing of the aqueous and organic phases. Co‐current liquid‐liquid extraction was performed in the mini extractor, and it was visually observed that the aqueous phase was dispersed into small droplets because of fluidic oscillation and vortex formation. The aqueous phase was more effectively dispersed at the stage near the outlet and with increasing flow. Several tests were performed for evaluating the extraction performance of the extractor using 30 % tributyl phosphate‐kerosene and 3 M HNO3 solutions as the organic and aqueous phases, respectively. The obtained extraction efficiency was close to the equilibrium efficiency, indicating that this extractor has the potential for liquid‐liquid extraction of hazardous liquids.  相似文献

This paper reviews optically and electrically excited emissions from organic semiconducting oligomers in the form of their single crystals. Of the semiconducting oligomers, the review focuses on thiophene/phenylene co‐oligomers (TPCOs). The topics cover crystal growth and laser oscillation along with related spectrally narrowed emissions of TPCO crystals. Aside from the strong excitation with a laser beam, weak excitation using a mercury lamp produces optical fringes superimposed on broadband emission spectra. The laser oscillation spectra accompanied by longitudinal multimode and optical fringes observed from the weak excitation have the same origin. This enables us to determine optical constants (i.e. refractive indices) and their dispersion of the crystals and provides sufficient information for the construction of optoelectronic devices based on the organic crystals. As a typical example, the review outlines the improved device constitution and performance as well as device operation methods with light‐emitting field‐effect transistors (LEFETs), because the device configuration is suited for cutting‐edge devices including lasers. Finally the review presents device performance of LEFETs having a diffraction grating. These devices are suited for exploring the possibility of constructing a next‐generation current‐injected laser device. © 2016 The Authors. Abstract

In order to gain further understanding of aerodynamic forces and their effects on groups of high‐rise buildings, this study used wind‐tunnel experiments. Two square prisms were arranged both in tandem and side‐by‐side arrangement with different spacings in between. Similar experiments were carried out to study the interactions of aerodynamics between the two prisms when both were stationary, when only one prism oscillated, and finally, when both prisms oscillated.

The results showed that the aerodynamic responses were either enhanced or suppressed by the spacing ratios, the oscillating frequencies, and the mutual influences of the two square prisms in various arrangements. The aerodynamics also changed due to the occurrences of different flow patterns, such as channel flow, deflected flow, pulsating flow, and so on. Obviously, the aerodynamics of the flow patterns of the two square prisms in tandem and side‐by‐side arrangements proved to be more complex than those of a single square prism.  相似文献
